Langside Library - now closed for refurbishment
04/12/2024
Langside Library is now closed for a major refurbishment through funding from Glasgow City Council’s Community Asset Fund, to improve the service to better meet the needs of the local community.
The Library is scheduled to re-open by latest Winter 2026/27. Glasgow Life has committed to LBCCC to provide updates on the progress of the refurbishment programme recognising the high level of interest in the local community.
The programme of works at Langside Library will include: a new, flat level, accessible main entranceway on Battlefield Road; an exciting children’s zone; and an improved adult reading and study area. A bookable community meeting and learning room will be equipped to support local community activities. Re-arranged interior spaces will provide flexibility to meet a variety of uses. Additionally, more customer toilets will be provided, including a Changing Places toilet.
