Langside Library - news update -

04/12/2024

The Library is scheduled to re-open early in 2027. Based on a recent news update provided to Cllr Holly Bruce, Glasgow Life advise that construction works are progressing well, with full internal protection and asbestos removals now complete. The full letter can be viewed at https://langsidecommunity.org.uk/couch/uploads/file/langside-library-update-november-2025.pdf.

Langside Library is currently closed for a major refurbishment through funding from Glasgow City Council’s Community Asset Fund, to improve the service to better meet the needs of the local community. The programme of works at Langside Library will include: a new, flat level, accessible main entranceway on Battlefield Road; an exciting children’s zone; and an improved adult reading and study area. A bookable community meeting and learning room will be equipped to support local community activities. Re-arranged interior spaces will provide flexibility to meet a variety of uses. Additionally, more customer toilets will be provided, including a Changing Places toilet.
