Langside, Battlefield & Camphill Community Council
We are local people representing residents in this area of the South Side. We want to improve the quality of life and press for action on local issues. Our meetings are open to the public and take place monthly on the first Tuesday of every month (except January and August). We meet at Finn's Place, Langside Church, Ledard Rd, G42. Meetings start at 7pm.
Community Councils are voluntary organisations established by statute. We are automatically consulted by Glasgow City Council on planning, licensing, traffic and parking controls and other matters. Local councillors, community police and, by invitation, council officers attend our monthly meetings to report on developments and respond to local concerns. Other bodies, such as Greater Glasgow NHS and Scottish Power, also use the CC as a means of local consultation. Our views therefore carry some weight and we can often get a local problem dealt with quickly.
We liaise with other local organisations, including Battlefield Community Project and Langside Community Heritage, as part of our representation of the wider community.
We are not a political body and views are expressed on a personal basis. You are welcome to attend and we are always interested in hearing from people who think they have something to offer as a community councillor.
